Reclamation recently announced that CVP contractors using 2,000 acre-feet or more of water must resume development and submittal of water management plans. The plan, which must address the efficient use of water resources, must be updated and reviewed every five years and deemed adequate by Reclamation in relation to each contractor’s contract. Following approval, contractors are required to submit annual updates on the plan’s implementation. 2023 updates are due by August 30, 2023, for the previous year only. Updates may be provided on either an annual-year or fiscal-year basis.
