Dani Fatta works on a wide range of matters for Somach, Simmons & Dunn clients, with a particular focus on projects involving CEQA issues. She brings to her legal practice a wealth of experience working in agriculture and public policy.

She is a graduate of McGeorge School of Law and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo who was born and raised in California’s Central Valley agricultural region. There is a thread of farming experience that runs throughout her background, weaving its way through education and hands-on work. She holds a B.S. in Agricultural Business and was chosen for the competitive role of California State FFA Officer where she spent a year serving 90,000 FFA students throughout California, traveling the state to visit students and agricultural operations, and speaking to an audience of over 7,000 conference attendees.

She also worked for several years for the Agricultural Council of California and as an Assembly Fellow for the California State Assembly, serving as the lead staff member for the Flood Protection Caucus and advising on legislation relating to water, wildlife, agriculture, environment, and natural resources.

While in law school, Dani was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board, where two of her appellate briefs earned national recognition. She also sharpened her focus and expertise in water and public policy while in law school, earning two concentrations in Water and Environmental Law and Capital Lawyering, and earning awards for the highest grades in the California Initiative Seminar, Capital Lawyering, and the Legislative and Public Policy Clinic I & II.

Dani is a runner, as well as the owner of a chocolate lab, and sometimes combines the two.
